Hello Flower Mound Area Democrats!
Check out our calendar of events & activities for October. Fall temps have finally arrived, (Hey, 80s are considered Fall temps in Texas these days) so we can finally and somewhat legitimately enjoy our seasonal favorite pumpkin-spiced everything. And you know what else we can do? Gather! Get involved! Get our voters to the polls! Go Vote!
This month we’ve got our monthly First Fridays Happy Hour, Breakfast Club, & Book Club on offer and they are great places to plug in and get to know your fellow Dems better. We’ve got one more Precinct Chair/Volunteer Training left for those who are interested in helping us get out the Dem vote and create that Blue Wave we all want and need in the upcoming midterm election this November. Our monthly club meeting is, like always, the 3rd Wednesday of every month. At this month’s meeting we’re talking about something that’s been on most people’s minds around the nation: Data Centers. So come be informed. Come ask questions. And come find out how you can help Dems win big in the midterms.
Because guess what? Early voting starts THIS MONTH. Scroll down for a Handy Voting Sheet you can take into the voting booth with you.
Scroll on down to see our full list of upcoming events & make your plans to jump in & join us!
Reminder: You can also find all of this information and more on our website: www.flowermoundareademocrats.org, our club’s Flower Mound Area Democrats private Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/flowermounddemocrats, and the DCDP’s event page DCDP Events https://www.dentondemocrats.org/events.

Where: Creekwood Christian Church, Great Room/Common Area, 2660 Forest Vista Dr., Flower Mound, TX, 75028
What: Join us for our monthly club meeting. At this month’s meeting we’ll be talking about Data Centers. Simon Mathew, who is an IT Infrastructure & Systems Engineer at Virbac with 10+ years experience in solutions architecture, threat management & vulnerability remediation, will be presenting. North Texas is seeing a rapid wave of data-center development, from Dallas and Fort Worth to Garland, Mesquite, Westlake, Keller, and other suburbs. This presentation asks whether our cities are prepared to handle the real impacts: water use during drought, massive electric demand, noise, diesel generators, tax incentives, limited permanent jobs, and the long-term cost of building infrastructure for private companies. Data centers may bring investment and tax revenue, but cities need to ask harder questions about who benefits, who pays, and what protections residents receive. Before more projects are approved, North Texas needs transparency, enforceable safeguards, and regional coordination. The first half hour (6:30-7pm) is for socializing & snacking. Feel free to bring something snacky to share. The presentation will start promptly at 7pm. Sign up and let us know you’re coming through this Mobilize link: https://www.mobilize.us/dentondemocrats/event/1055277/

Look Ahead…
Election Day Voting — Midterm 2026 Election
When: Tues, November 3rd, 7am-7pm.
Where: In Denton County, you can ONLY vote in your precinct’s specific voting location. You can look that up here: www.votedenton.gov Do a Voter Lookup, enter your name & birthdate, and it will give you your precinct number, the one place your precinct can vote on election day, and your sample ballot that you can print out and take with you into the voting booth.
In any election here in Denton County, if you show up at the wrong location on Election Day, you will be turned away. Election workers will try to help you find the correct location per your precinct. If you insist on voting at the wrong location, the election workers may give you a provisional ballot. However, your vote on that provisional ballot will not count. So on election day, be sure to vote in your precinct’s specific polling location.
Go to www.votedenton.gov to check your registration status, see your sample ballot, and confirm your polling locations and hours.
