December, they say, is the month of joy, happiness, and to finish what you’ve started. And, according to Ralph Waldo Emerson, it’s also the time for remembering the past and reaching toward the future. And as Flower Mound Area Democrats, that’s just exactly what we plan to do and to incorporate into our end of year festivities and activities. No, the election did not go as we would have hoped. But our work here is not finished and there is still joy & happiness to be shared. And do it, we will. And share it, we shall. FMAD End Of Year Holiday Party
When: December 18th, 6:30 – 8:30 pm

What: Join us for our end of year Holiday Party. We’ll have fun & games, party foods, arts & crafts, and lots of laughs. Everyone is welcome to bring a snack, drink, or dessert to share. It’s a wonderful opportunity to come together and just play & enjoy one another’s company as we gear up to continue the fight going forward together.
FMAD Breakfast Club
When: Saturday, December 21st, 9:00 am
Where: Texas Star Cafe 1901 Long Prairie Rd, Flower Mound, TX 75022
What: Come eat breakfast and socialize with your fellow Democrats. Look for a long table of fellow Democrats drinking coffee and ordering pancakes. Afterwards, consider following us over to FMAD’s Adopt-a-Spot for a quick trash pick-up to help us Keep Flower Mound Beautiful.
FMAD Adopt-a-Spot Trash-Pick Up
When: Saturday, December 21st, 11:00 am
Where: FMAD’s Adopt-a-Spot located at NE corner of Dixon Ln & Long Prairie Rd. 6000 Long Prairie Rd, Flower Mound, TX 75028
What: Join us to help Keep Flower Mound Beautiful by picking up trash one last time for the year at our Adopt-a-Spot. We will have everything you need: gloves, trash bags, grabbers. Takes 30 minutes tops. And many hands make light work.

What: Join your fellow Dems as they discuss our next good read, “Bowling Alone” by Robert Putnam (updated 2020 version) while enjoying some delicious Tex-Mex.

We are always grateful to the venues that are willing to host us for our gatherings. Out of appreciation for their willingness to host and accommodate us and out of respect to the waitstaff who work hard to serve us, let’s make sure each of us are 1) Being extra-patient with and respectful of waitstaff who are waiting upon a sometimes extra-large group of us. 2) Paying not just our tab but tipping extra (20% is reasonable, customary, and highly recommended).
We are the Flower Mound Area Democrats. Showing our appreciation and respect for the venues that host us and the service workers that serve us in these spaces is not just about ensuring our image in the community is a positive one, it’s simply the right thing to do.
